From what I have been reading about skylarks, either DNA or wait to see which ones sing. Also the hind claw is longer in the Cocks.

Hi mate the cock bird sing his head off and the cock bird is alot bigger then the hen but if that fails then it dna sexing mine laid the first egg this morning and tonight their another egg so two in one day

great.If next year will be as bad as past years ,i am intended of starting on larks or skylarks. which one of them is the best to breed? how do you sex larks and skylarks, is only by DNA?

Bad luck John, you will still keep trying with them for the rest of the season though? You never know, it could still come good.

Prety much same,same,

Lost hen songie,she died,blackbirds,doin nought,cept chasing each and another,blackcaps and larks ar,nt doin much.

Robins,luckily enough,are in within range of my beady little eye,I know she has eggs,just need to know now,when or whether they have hatched.He is going into the box with food now and again and she occasionally pops out.

If she pops out over the weekend I will fly in with a mirror and I will climb onto a plant pot to take a better look .

Its piddling down with rain a\s I type so it looks as if,no one is going anywhere

Hi all skylark laid her first egg this morning and here it is

Well done Robert my first round were clear and I don't think the cock bird is any good so I will be looking for a new one for next season

Hello Birdfanciers,



Here are the first pictures of 2 white Starlings(9 days old) that I took out of the nest for handfeeding. Hopefully more will follow in a a couple of days.

Birds are fed on Avian High Energy and soaked Eukanuba puppypellet.

Wags have 4 eggs



and thats about it.....

*Yellowhammers are carrying stuff about but havent got a nest.

*Thrushes in cage have laid 3 eggs all over the place - except the nest 2 are broken.

* Two lots of redpoll x irish eggs are clear

* Other two prs of thrushes just carrying stuff about - no serious nesting

* Stonechats - nothing happening yet

* Blackcaps - cock singing all day, so maybe they will go down to nest this year



and Sparrows..well..... they are no more...stupid muppet me left their door open by mistake last night... and this morning they were gone , what a mug

hi dave how the robins doing is she sitting yet we lost chicks all dead in nest did see cock chasing her at one point but she has gone down again with 5 eggs so hopefully this should be ok.
