Welcome to British Birds in Aviculture
Welcome to BBIA "GUEST"

If your visiting BBIA as a guest, please feel free to join and help the BBIA forum grow.
All parts of BBIA are completely free so all within this great hobby can share their experiences within their bird rooms and aviaries and even on the show bench.
BBIA is a specialised website that covers British hardbills and softbills such as the bullfinch, greenfinch, chaffinch, goldfinch, blackbirds, redstarts, thrushes and all other British native birds that come in to these categories.
We also cover mules and hybrids, all canaries varieties and British native related species such as Northern bullfinch and goldfinch etc. etc.

We have a vast knowledge within this site via the various articles available and a wealth of knowledge freely shared on a daily basis by the many members and staff we have on BBIA.
It doesn’t matter how experienced or none experienced you are we can all learn something new from fellow breeders and exhibitors of these fantastic species.

All we ask in return on BBIA is that were possible you share your experiences were possible in the hope of helping other members with help and advice, and remember this; no question is classed as a daft question, we all have different levels of experience so will not be taken in any other way other than to help were possible.
We also ask to please respect other member’s views as any post is only from the member’s point of view.

We are a very friendly site and don’t accept members being bullied by other members, after all we are all bird keepers and don’t expect to be insulted in anyway but just to provide a FREE helpful service for our members.

Unfortunately we are unable to allow guests to view the forum which is purely a security measure as a method of protecting members from such as bird room theft etc.

Bird keeping is currently in great danger of disappearing or at least as we know it today, so if you have not already registered as a member on BBIA then please register FREE and help preserve this free services for the future of aviculture.

We look forward to reading and replying to your post, and if you feel you can help others by also replying to posts then that’s even better.

To register FREE please use the link below, this will take you to the registration process.
Once you have filled in all required fields marked with a * and submitted your details you will then receive an email containing a confirmation link that you need to click on.
This is purely to confirm the email provided is a real email address which only you as the owner are able to use.
Once back on the site you simply login with the details you provided on registering, these details are also included within your confirmation email, please keep these details safe for future reference.

If for any reason you do not receive the confirmation email please check your spam box as they are sometimes diverted to that area depending on your internet service provider or security settings (This is quite often the case with such internet providers as AOL if using their AOL emails).

SHG Press Release

Legal Aid changes deny a defence to people prosecuted by the RSPCA

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
26th June 2007

Animal Welfare prosecutions are a very specialist area of the criminal law which are usually strongly contested and hinge on expert evidence, often lasting several days or even weeks

The current legal aid changes will lead to increased delays, miscarriages of justice and higher costs as more RSPCA cases go to appeal, claim the Self Help Group for Farmers Pet Owners and Others experiencing difficulties with the RSPCA (the SHG).

“The RSPCA fields specialist solicitors experienced in Animal Welfare Law and barristers who travel across England and Wales to undertake private prosecutions in the Magistrates Courts. The RSPCA also have a select number of expert witnesses who consistently travel to wherever they are required.” Said Ernest Vine of the SHG

“The people the RSPCA are prosecuting are being denied the Equality of A ...

I have now installed a language pack for the Netherlands (Holland).
Although this will let members from Holland view the forum in their language the actual post that are already in English will remain in English and vice versa if posted in Dutch.
For this reason I have also provided the babblefish language translator to the top of ever forum page.
You can either simply highlight a particular post, copy it and paste in to the box that appears then choosing the language from/to, or by simply inserting the forum page link which will then translate the whole page to and from the chosen languages.

The reason for having these new features is to help provide better relations between our European neighbours and fellow bird keepers as we can all learn a hell of allot in regards to our birds from these countries in the way they do things.

Again as far as I am aware BBIA is the first ever bird keeping related website to go to such measures in trying to bridge the gap between these very k ...

I am now offering paid advertising.
This offer is to animal and bird related organizations and businesses only.

There are two ways you can advertise; a simple full head banner on top of every forum pages on British Birds In Aviculture forums.
I will design a banner to fit your requirements.

Or alternatively you can have option 2 which is the full head banner + a full page to advertise your service or business.
I will design a banner & page to fit your requirements.

All funds raised from these ads plain and simply will go back in to the running of the website so to keep them free for all who enjoy this hobby.

For an example of what you would get for your money simply scroll to the top or bottom of every forum page, there you will see option 1 the full banner add, to view option 2 simply click on the banner add which will re-direct you to option 2 the full page add.
Visit John Wrennes add forum the top of every forum page for an example of option 2.
If not there ...
