Saturday was my local club Oxford 1910 stock show & I decided that I must support them.
I took a small team of 4 birds & was as expected the only softbills on display - but it certainly creates a fair bit of interest & its good to see all the local people
The judge put my birds in the following order
1st CYB Dunnock
2nds CYB Songie
3rd Cinnamon Thrush
4th Cinnamon Blackbird cock
I came away with best Novice bird & did well in the raffle as well
Then it was home & time for a quick turn around, cleaning up the cages & swaping a few birds around.
Sunday saw the 100 mile trip down to the coast for Bournemouth & Counties CBA British & Norwich show.
I took 6 birds:
Redstart, Pied wag, Cinny Songthrush, Cinny Blackbird, young Dunnock & Song thrush
I had a good day (apart from spending to much money as I took the missus round the shops
Best Softbill in show, best novice softbill & best colour variant softbill was my Cinnamon song thrush
Best CYB softbill was my Dunnock ( so she had a good weekend
Nice little show
Jimmy Rutter did the major honours with best british bird & best mule - being a nice Greeny mule & he also had best hardbill with a Goldfinch cock.
Nice to meet up with a few BBIA members, Libb66 (Dave) did well in Novice section with best Hybrid with Goldy x greeny & best miniature mule with Goldy x Fife.
