Had a great day out yesterday

Up before 5am, in Stoke by 7:30 - I like to get the birds in early & give them time to settle

Was asked to help steward, so along with another chap spent the morning assisting the Softbill judge Chris Atkinson, which is always a pleasure & you learn a few things along the way

I did not fare to bad, had best novice softbill & best adult softbill with the Redstart, best colour variant with a cinny songthrush, best CYB colour vaiant with another cinny song thrush & 2nd best CYB softbill with a normal song thrush

There was certainly some excellent birds on show, Alan Lythe had some nice birds & his cages were superb as usual, Lammie had some very nice blackbirds on show, there were birds rangeing from coal tits right upto a magpie, all in 100 softbills
